About EEKU
Evolution Education at KU (EEKU) is a new program within the Center for Science Education. Evolution is not well understood by the general public even though it is one of the core organizing theories of the science. For biology, geneticists Theodosius Dobzhansky said, "nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution" and yet misunderstanding abounds. EEKU will support existing efforts in evolution education across the campus and develop new projects as opportunities arise and needs are identified.

Featured Project - Teaching Evolution at KU
Teaching Evolution at KU is an open dialogue for anyone/everyone at the University of Kansas who teaches or uses evolutionary concepts. Informal discussions of teaching will explore what is taught, where it is taught and how it is taught at KU. We will also explore the routes through which an undergraduate is exposed to various concepts of evolution. It is intended that this be a wide ranging effort exploring a broad range of definitions of evolution, ways in which the concept is incorporated in different disciplines and implications of evolutionary theory across disciplines.
